My name is Tennille Smith

My name is Tennille Smith, a qualified primary school teacher and the founder of Prep Ready Kids. With over a decade of experience teaching Prep and supporting early learners across Victorian schools, I am passionate about helping children feel confident, capable and excited as they begin their school journey.

Throughout my years in the classroom, I’ve seen firsthand how much children flourish when they are supported with the right mix of play, structure, encouragement and skill-building. Prep Ready Kids was created to bridge the gap between kinder and school, offering small-group sessions that nurture early literacy, numeracy, fine-motor development, social skills and independence — all aligned with the Victorian Curriculum.

As both a teacher and a mother, I understand how important this transition is for families. My goal is to create a welcoming, positive environment where children grow in confidence, build strong foundations, and feel truly ready for their first big year of school.

Our Services

Prep Ready Kids offers targeted individual support for 4 and 5 year olds preparing for school through our Prep Readiness Immersion program. With a maximum of four- six children per group, each session integrates play-based learning, early literacy, numeracy foundations, fine motor development, and social-emotional skills, all designed and taught by an experienced Prep teacher. We are dedicated to building confident, happy learners for a successful school journey.

Prep Readiness group class

Prep Ready Kids offers a weekly Thursday afternoon session from 3:30–4:30pm, designed specifically for children currently in Prep or Grade 1 who would benefit from additional learning support.

These sessions focus on building strong foundations in early literacy and numeracy, while also supporting confidence, attention, and classroom readiness. Learning is highly individualised, allowing each child to work at their own pace and target the areas where they need the most support.

Group Readiness

Our Group Readiness Classes are designed for 4–6 children per session. Join us for engaging activities that foster social skills and prepare kids for school success.

Class Times

Classes run on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the following times:

9:30am- 10:30am
10:45am – 11:45pm
12:00pm – 1:00pm

Families may choose a preferred session based on availability on the online booking.

Term Dates

• Term 1: Begins 3rd Feb – 9 weeks
• Term 2: 22 April – 28 June – 10 weeks
• Term 3: 15 July – 20 Sept – 10 weeks
• Term 4: 7 October – 20 Dec – 11 weeks

Each term follows Victorian primary school scheduling.

Pricing & Goals

Affordable pricing packages available to suit your budget. Our learning goals focus on literacy, numeracy, and social development. Prepare your child for a bright future.

The Group School Readiness Program costs $60 per session, paid per term or $66 for casual sessions. Pricing includes all materials, structured activities, progress monitoring, and individualised support throughout the term.

Prep/Grade 1 tutoring Thursday group sessions $70 paid per term or $80 for casual sessions.
